One-time fees & taxes

A one-time fee is a named, non-recurring charge — an installation charge, a call-out fee or any similar one-off — that you can add to an invoice. Tax rates, meanwhile, are the reusable percentages that plans, fees and invoices all draw on. This guide covers both.

One-time fees

Open Plans > One Time Fees. The table lists each fee with its Name, Amount, Tax, Description and Status, along with Edit and Delete actions. Press Add Fee to create one.

Adding a fee

In the Add One Time Fee dialog, fill in:

  • Name — for example "Installation Fee".
  • Amount — the charge value.
  • Tax Rate — choose No Tax or one of your configured rates (a fee carries a single tax rate).
  • Description — an optional note.
  • StatusActive or Inactive.

Once saved, an active fee is available to add when you build an invoice.

Tax rates

Tax rates are configured under Config > Tax. Each rate has a Name, a unique Code (such as VAT, GST or ST), a percentage Rate, an optional Compound flag and a Status. A compound tax is calculated on the total plus the other taxes already applied, rather than on the base amount alone. These rates then appear in the tax dropdowns throughout the system — the three tax slots on an internet plan, the tax on a VoIP plan, and the tax on each one-time fee.

Note: Because plans and fees reference a tax rate rather than storing a fixed percentage, editing a rate updates every plan and fee that uses it — so change rates with care.
