Live Topology

The Live Topology page draws your fiber plant as a live tree — the OLT on the left, its PON ports, then the splitters, splices, sites and ONUs fanning out to the right. It is built from the same data as your Network Map and refreshes automatically, so you can watch ONU signals and traffic in real time. The subtitle reads Fiber plant from your Network Map with live ONU signals & packet flow.

Reading the diagram

The topology is laid out left-to-right. From the OLT chassis (showing its name, PON type and a grid of per-port LEDs) fiber links curve out to the network's nodes:

  • Splitters are drawn with their ratio, e.g. 1:8; ODFs are labelled ODF.
  • Splices / joints appear as small circles.
  • Sites are labelled boxes.
  • ONUs are aligned in the rightmost column, each showing its name/serial, a status dot and its signal.

Links between nodes carry an approximate distance label (for example ~1.23 KM) and animated flow dots that show traffic direction.

Live status & colours

Colours tell you the health of the plant at a glance. Online ONUs and healthy links are drawn in the accent (green) colour with a pulsing dot and show a reading such as −22 dBm · ONLINE. Fault conditions turn orange, with a cause label such as LOS · FIBRE CUT, DYING GASP or POWER FAILURE. Nodes with no reading show a muted NO DATA dot. A fully-down branch is dressed with a FIBRE CUT marker and its estimated distance from the OLT. The PON-port LEDs on the OLT go green when any ONU on that port is up and orange when one is down.

Toolbar pills summarise whether the OLT is REACHABLE and how many ONUs are online, and an UPDATED chip shows the last refresh time.

The canvas is fully interactive: drag to pan, scroll to zoom, and double-click empty space to reset the view. Clicking a splitter or splice reveals a small control to collapse or expand that branch (a collapsed branch shows a +n ONUs badge). Hover any node for a detailed tooltip.

  • Click an ONU to highlight its full path back to the OLT and zoom to it.
  • Double-click an ONU to open its ONU page.
  • Click the OLT chassis to open the OLT page.

Choosing an OLT & refresh

When you have more than one OLT, an OLT selector at the top switches which OLT's tree is shown; with a single OLT its name is shown as a chip. The Network Map button jumps to the full map. The view auto-refreshes every 10 seconds and only redraws when something visible changes; polling pauses while the browser tab is hidden.

Note: the topology is drawn from the markers and fiber links on your Network Map. If an OLT has no map plant, the page shows an empty state — place your OLT, splitters and ONUs on the map first so the tree can be built.
