Alarm Console
The Alarm Console is where your NOC triages faults. It collects the SNMP trap events raised by your OLTs and network devices and lets you filter them by severity, state and time, then acknowledge, clear or notify on them. It is a read-only view over the incoming traps — acknowledging and clearing only change the alarm's handling state, never the device.
The summary bar
At the top of the page, badges summarise the current picture for the selected time range: how many critical, warning and other alarms there are, and how many are still open (neither acknowledged nor cleared).
Filtering alarms
Three dropdowns narrow the list, and the table's own search box does a text search across device, IP, message and trap OID:
- Severity: All, Critical, Emergency, Alert, Error, Warning, Notice, Informational or Debug.
- State: Open (unacked), Acknowledged, Cleared or All states.
- Time range: Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days or All time.
Each alarm row shows its Time, Severity (colour-coded), Device (hostname or IP), the Message, its State and per-row actions. The table pages through all matching alarms server-side, so you are never limited to just the most recent ones.
Acknowledging & clearing
You can act on one alarm or many:
- Use the per-row Ack and Clear buttons to handle a single alarm.
- Tick several alarms and use Ack selected or Clear selected in the toolbar to handle them in bulk.
An acknowledged alarm is marked Acked (with who and when); a cleared alarm is marked Cleared. Clicking a row opens the Alarm Details dialog, which shows the full message, trap OID, varbinds and raw event, along with Acknowledge, Clear and Notify buttons.
Notifying on-call staff
Select one or more alarms and click Notify selected (or use Notify in the detail dialog) to send email and WhatsApp alerts to your on-call recipients. Only critical and emergency alarms are actually sent; the confirmation reports how many were notified by email and WhatsApp.
