NMS overview
The Network Management System is the fiber side of Xelynx. It connects to your OLTs over SNMP/telnet, discovers and provisions ONUs, draws the physical plant on a map, and surfaces alarms, signal and capacity so you can see and fix the network from one place. This page maps out the main areas and links to each one.
Getting started
Bring a network online: prepare a factory OLT in Huawei OLT initial setup (management IP, dedicated user, telnet & SNMP, firewall), then read the whole network at a glance from the dashboard — status, outages, faults, alarms and PON signal.
OLTs
Register and run your line terminals: add an OLT (open communication, sync boards & ports, set up the VPN), tune boards, PON ports and uplinks in OLT settings & monitoring, and control who can act on each OLT with OLT user management.
ONUs / ONTs
Provision and monitor subscribers' devices: add ONUs straight from autofind, watch per-ONU signal, traffic and alarms in ONU settings & monitoring, and manage models and profiles under ONU types & profiles.
Network map & planning
See and design the plant: draw closures, ODBs, fibers and ONU placement on maps & fiber plant, follow the auto-built live topology, trace a tree with the PON tracer, and size splitters and routes before you build with the network planner.
Operations
Run the network day to day: track active and historical alarms, check capacity and headroom, run on-demand diagnostics, and discover unauthorized devices with autofind.
Administration
Govern and configure: review who did what in the audit log, and set global preferences and integrations in NMS settings.
