Graphs

The XRTG Graphs page turns the interfaces you enabled on the Routers page into live bandwidth charts. Pick an interface from the tree on the left and its inbound and outbound traffic is drawn on the right, refreshing on its own so you can watch traffic in near real time.

Finding an interface

The left panel is a tree: each XRTG server expands to its routers, and each router expands to its enabled interfaces. Only interfaces you switched on for a router appear here — if a router shows "No enabled interfaces", turn some on from its Interfaces panel on the Routers page. Click any interface to load its graph.

Reading the graph

The chart plots two lines: In (green) for inbound traffic and Out (yellow) for outbound, with the vertical axis auto-scaling and labelled in bps, Kbps, Mbps or Gbps. The header shows which router and interface you're viewing. The graph keeps updating on a timer while it's open, appending new readings as they arrive.

Time intervals

The buttons above the chart change the time window and resolution: 5sec, raw, 5min, 15min, 1hr, 6hr, 12hr and 1day. The finest views (5sec and raw) give you live, high-resolution traffic for spotting short spikes, while the longer windows summarise history to show trends across hours or a full day. Switching interval reloads the graph for that range.

Note: if a freshly enabled interface shows "No data available yet", give XRTG a polling cycle or two to collect its first readings, then reopen the graph.

Traffic figures

Below the chart, six figures summarise the data on screen: Current In and Current Out (the latest reading), Peak In and Peak Out (the highest seen in the window), and Avg In and Avg Out (the average across it). These give you a quick read on how loaded an interface is right now versus its busiest moment. To chase down latency or loss on a link, jump to Traffic diagnosis.
